Guidelines for Amazon Product Page Videos and Amazon Sponsored Search Results Videos

Below are the guidelines for videos posted on your AMAZON PRODUCT PAGE and how we follow them to the best of our ability. Note that Amazon changes these occasionally, so we try to stay on top of the changes.

You must have the rights to use the video:


All our videos come with the license to post and show the video anywhere online (like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, your website, etc.). If you need to air the video on a mass medium like TV, Film, or Radio or have other questions about the copyright, please contact us for more information. So, you can use the videos we produce and deliver on your product pages immediately.


The product video must be of high quality:

We deliver all our videos in a full HD, 1080p MP4 video file. We shoot the videos in landscape (which is best for Amazon).


A thumbnail image for the video must be provided:

Video Language:

All videos must be in English per Amazon’s video guidelines. We create all our videos in American English.


Claims:

All claims for the product in the video must be accurate. Any awards that are mentioned must be supported by the details found on the product’s detail page.


Comparisons with other products:

Comparisons that mention the name of a competitor's brand must be factual and objective. Competitor comparisons must not be defamatory or derogatory.


The video must not contain:

Any reference to your company, contact information, competitor's products, that the product is only sold by authorized sellers, product pricing, promotion or sale information, time-sensitive promo or sale information, illegal products, products by alcohol manufacturers or distributors, behaviors that suggest irresponsible drinking, suggesting excessive consumption, shipping cost or delivery time, customer review information, quotes from editorials or third parties, warranties, guarantees, logos other than your own, websites other than [Amazon.com](http://amazon.com/), offensive content, persuading buyers to purchase the product, health claims, medical claims, medical advice, suggest that the product can cause weight loss, a rate of weight loss, nudity, sexual or suggestive content, provocative imagery, pornography, links that direct the customer away from the product page, impersonations or people or brands, unauthorized endorsements, infringes on another’s intelectual property or copyrights, disclose personal or private information, content that may cause the viewer distress, socially insensitive content, politically incorrect content, foul language, content that suggests endangering yourself or others, threats, graphic imagery, interference with the navigation page on Amazon.com, content specifically directed at children, children in the video without written consent from the parent/guardian, products that are prohibited under Amazon’s “Restricted Products” policy (see policy on http://sellercentral.amazon.com), product that are prohibited under the “Unacceptable Products & Services” section of Amazon’s “Creative Acceptance Policy” (see policy on http://sellercentral.amazon.com).


When writing your script, we try to follow all the guidelines. However, if you provide us with the script for the video, we will try to catch these (if they are contained in your script). If not, you may need to re-order if Amazon rejects the video.


Video Length:

As of this time, Amazon does not give a limit to the time length for the video but suggests it be 1 minute long or under. This is specifically for videos on actual product pages. Amazon-sponsored search result videos have different requirements (see below).


The video must be for the product on the item's page:

The video for the product must be only for the item's product page. If the item has variations such as bundled items and/or additional items included in the order, these need to have separate videos. If the product comes in different colors only, then only one video is needed as long as the mention of other colors is included in the video.


AMAZON SPONSORED SEARCH RESULT VIDEOS


Below are the guidelines for videos posted on your AMAZON SPONSORED SEARCH VIDEO RESULTS and how we follow them to the best of our ability. Note that Amazon changes these occasionally, so we try to stay on top of the changes.


Video must be brief and relevant:

Amazon suggests that the first 2 seconds are highly engaging and do not rely on sound to communicate the message of the video.


Text in the video:

If text or graphics are used in the video, they must be legible.


Video Length:

Video duration must be between 6 seconds and 45 seconds.


Video resolution:

Video resolution must be 720p, 1080p or 4K. We deliver all our videos in a full HD, 1080p MP4 video file. We shoot the videos in landscape (which is best for Amazon).


Video File Size:

The video file size must be 500MB or smaller.


Video File Format:

The video file format must be either MOV or MP4.


Video Aspect Ratio:

The video aspect ratio must be 16:9 (widescreen/horizontal).


Audio Bitrate:

The audio bitrate must be 96kbps or higher.
