The Concept and Story:
The basis of a good video is a good concept. Let’s face it, not everyone is a poet or a wordsmith. There are lots of people out there that have a calling for writing. If you write a script or concept, share it with people and ask for their honest opinions. If they don’t like it or don’t get it, it’s ok. This is where you can give it another go or hire a writer that has the gift, of writing.
Once you have your concept and story, it is time to get the production process started. This all starts with what’s called “Pre Production.” In this process, it can be hard to try and do it all yourself. It involves finalizing the script, finding actors and locations and prepping for the shoot. This is usually done by a team of people, all with a specific job.
Now it’s time to shoot. We have our location, our actors, our script and crew. Once the cameras are rolling, there’s no turning back. This production process usually takes the shortest amount of time, compared to the other phases. But, this is the most important part. This is where all the pre-production comes together.
Now that you had your shoot and filming is done, it is time to make something. This is where an editor takes all the footage and pieces it together. Visual Effects Artists, Music Composers and other post production crews help in the process as well.
